Talisman Art Competition

Children and Adults across Kenilworth are being encouraged to get their creative hats on this month.

Children and Adults in the town are being invited to paint a picture about what they feel best depicts Kenilworth during an event being held in the square at Talisman centre on Saturday 21st August from 11am until 3pm.

The most imaginative designs will be picked out by a panel of judges and then displayed prominently on the blank space on the Hoarding for all to see.

This event is free and all art equipment is to be provided on the day.

World Cup Charity Penalty Shootout

Footballs fans in Kenilworth will be put on the spot when a World Cup penalty shoot-out competition is held in the town centre to raise money for charity next month.

The penalty tournaments, which will take place at Talisman shopping centre on Saturday, July 3, will give adults the chance to win a 32 inch HD ready television while under-XXs could take home a Nintendo Wii console with a football game.

Both competitions get underway at 10am and will cost £1 for four shots at goal with all proceeds raised to be donated to Scope – the leading UK disability charity for children and adults with cerebral palsy.

All those successful with all four penalties will then progress to the final and the chance to win the top prizes.

Hugo Hawkings, chief executive of Talisman developers Discovery Properties, said he expects the competitions to be keenly contested.

“It is not often penalty shoot-outs are popular in England with the track record the national team has had in major championships in recent years,” he said.

“I’m sure the adult and junior competitions will be well contested though, especially with the great prizes on offer and with all proceeds going to a special cause like Scope.”

St. George's Day

We celebrated a great St. George's Day in Talisman.

Everything that had been put on grew great attention and it worked really well in the square – lots of giveaways from the side attractions and people were having a go on the pole lathe wool looming and weaving.

The birds of prey as always drew a lot of attention from both young and old being able to handle them and the bouncy castle as with the childrens entertainer giving making and giving away balloons and circus skills never stopped all day which enabled the adults to have a look around and get involved with the other attractions.

St. George's Day

MEDIA RELEASE The sights and sounds of Medieval Britain will be able to be taken in by visitors to Talisman shopping centre in Kenilworth next month. A family fun day has been organised to celebrate St George’s Day at the centre on Saturday, April 24 organised by site owners Cobalt Estates. A birds of prey display and music from medieval band Brandywine Bridge will be among the entertainment taking place, along with demonstrations from a working pole lathe turner, spoon carver and basket weaver. Children will also be able to enjoy use of a bouncy castle, face painting and have a go circus skills sessions from 10am until 3pm.
