Staff at the former Thomas Cook store in Talisman Shopping Centre will keep their jobs after independent travel agents Hays Travel bought the company.
Hays opened its store in place of the old Thomas Cook store late October, and every original member of staff at Thomas Cook has been rehired by the firm.
A spokesman for the Kenilworth store said: “The team would like to thank all of our previous customers that booked with us as Thomas Cook.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to our new store under Hays Travel.”
Thomas Cook collapsed in September after entering into liquidation, threatening hundreds of jobs across the country.
But Hays Travel purchased the company in early October, and is well on its way to reopening Thomas Cook’s 555 stores which were all closed during the liquidation process.
Many of Thomas Cook’s staff who were originally made redundant have been hired by Hays Travel.
Hugo Hawkings, owner of Discovery Properties – the developer of Talisman Shopping Centre – was delighted that Hays has now opened in Talisman Shopping Centre.
“The news of Thomas Cook’s collapse was awful – it not only employed people here in Kenilworth but hundreds more all over the country.
“But I’m so pleased Hays Travel was able to agree a deal and reopen the store here in Talisman.
“I hope holidaymakers from Kenilworth support the store by popping in when they’re thinking of heading abroad for a break.”
