Talisman Shopping Centre’s car park will play host to a special art installation this Saturday to open the annual Kenilworth Arts Festival.

Artists from the Kenilworth Artists Association have created an exhibition called ‘Art in the Car Park’ featuring a wide variety of pieces, with many being available to buy on the day.

The exhibition follows a collaborative project between The Orangery, Kenilworth Books, Kenilworth Arts Festival and the Town Centre Improvement Group to install 20 planters around Talisman’s car park, alongside a colourful mural created by Kenilworth School Sixth Form students, to make it more appealing to visitors.

Art in the Car Park is free to attend and will be held from 10am to 4pm on Saturday (September 19).

Hugo Hawkings, chief executive of Discovery Properties – the developers of Talisman Shopping Centre – said: “It’s fantastic that Talisman will host the start of this year’s Kenilworth Arts Festival with Art in the Car Park.

“We are really pleased with the improved look of the car park, with the planters and the mural, and this is just another way Kenilworth’s residents can experience Talisman and we can provide a benefit for the whole community.

“It’s great to be hosting the exhibition and we can’t wait to see what the artists have produced.”

The Kenilworth Arts Festival runs from Saturday, September 19 to Friday, September 25, and will host a range of online events showcasing the finest jazz, poetry and literature, alongside a number of online workshops to inspire viewers to get creative.
